Designed by celebrated architect; Chamika De Alwis (Trustee of the Bawa Trust). The architecture of the project is notable for its unique blend of modern and traditional elements as well as its integration with the natural environment. The hotel is built on the side of a mountain ending on the Victoria Reservoir allowing it to blend seamlessly with the surrounding landscape. Natural materials such as local stone and wood further adds to the organic feel we aspire to accomplish.
The architecture of Digana by CPG is a testament to the beauty and elegance of what can be achieved with the intention of preserving culture and highlighting an idyllic lifestyle.

Sustainability

One of the most notable features of Digana by CPG is its use of local materials and construction methods. Which has not only used locally sourced materials such as stones, timber and thatched roofs, which not only minimises the carbon footprint of the buildings but also helps the local manufacturer and craftsman. The project is built on only roughly 50% of the land, preserving the rest for reforestation and growth of trees indigenous to the region. The project was designed to look as if one with the landscape. Once hotel operations begin upon construction completion, Digana by CPG will incorporate responsible tourism practices. We plan to work closely with the local community , providing employment opportunities and supporting local initiatives such as community activations and environmental education programs
